Norfolk is also known for being one of the best areas for birdwatching in the whole of the UK! Birds found range from the easily recognisable kingfishers and geese up to the more speciality birds such as the marsh harriers.

Our Coastguard Lookout property is perfect for birdwatching all year round. Just get comfortable in the top floor lookout and you can enjoy this fantastic hobby without having to leave the warmth! If you do fancy venturing out, the beach is just a 5 minute walk away!

There are also a number of local nature reserves with visitors centres ready to help you learn about the local feathered friends!

Graham and Lana recommend….

The owners, Graham and Lana, regularly visit the property themselves and use it as a relaxing retreat from busy city life. They have recommended the following activities…

On a dry, cold day we like nothing more than to have a long walk along the sand dunes to Holme and enjoy some lunch in a local Pub. We head home to spend the rest of the evening in front of the warm logfire with a nice cup of tea, or a glass of wine! The top floor lookout is a fantastic location to relax and enjoy the sunset over the horizon, spectacular to watch a big storm or just enjoy people or birdwatching! Norfolk is known as one of the best places for birdwatching in the UK!

If you do go for a walk we recommend having a good map or a Satnav App on your phone that works without internet (such as ViewRanger) as it can sometimes be difficult to get a signal when out and about in the area!
